Once the Classic Roll Bar was produced it underwent rigorous testing at the Bolton Automotive & Aerospace Research Group based at The University of Bolton whereby the Finite Element Analysis of Roll Over Protection Structure Report was produced from the test result findings. In short the Roll Over Protection System has to withstand one and a half times the weight of the car multiplied by a set amount of force at a set amount of pitch and roll and has not to displace more than 127mm. To say that the Classic Roll Bar system has achieved these outstanding results is an understatement. Setting the pitch and roll at set figures to simulate the car upside down and applying the force multiplied by one and a half times the car’s weight the most displacement the system showed was 5mm, in other test results it was as little as 3mm. Below shows where the force was applied (below - Fig1) and where the structure was effected (upper right - Fig2)

It can clearly be seen from the table of results below that the level of displacement experienced by the Classic Roll Bar when tested is minimal compared to the acceptable Safety Standard of 127mm.
Showing that our product is one of the best accessories on the market today. The Report concludes that ‘from the Finite Element Analysis it shows that the roll over protection structure provided by Classic Roll Bars Ltd is strong enough to withstand the maximum load in FMVSS216 Roof Crush Resistance Standard of 22.240 Newton Force and the deformation under that load to be always lower than 127mm displacement’ (Prof Chirwa C, Chen T, Dr Wang W) |
